Yesterday, at church, we talked about putting on the full armor of God so that we can stand up to the devil and his tricks. Sometimes the devils tricks, well most of the time, are appealing. Sin is fun…if its not, you’re not doing it right or lying…just sayin. But as followers of Christ…we cannot be led astray. We cannot fall for the devils schemes and the false gospels of hope that we reach toward.

I USED to be addicted to sugar.
I USED to binge eat.
I USED to eat for joy.
I USED to hide food from my husband.
I USED to wake up in the middle of the night and mindlessly eat.
I USED to restrict myself for days to “makeup” for binging.

BUT I STOOD UP, surrendered it to the LORD and he gave me a new name…. I AM VICTORY. I have and will overcome.

I put on my armor daily so that the Devil cannot tear me down. I don’t go to battle half dressed. I don’t go empty handed.

Do I struggle. Daily….but now I have tools and weapons from the HOLY ONE. I have a shield. I know the truth. I AM PREPARED, DAILY.

I KNOW that my struggle isn’t with food, and the scale, and the clothes I wear…those are things of the flesh. But battle is against the devil. In Ephesians 6:12 we read “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against, the cosmic powers of the darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.”

You can put on the full armor of God today too… Maybe its one piece at a time. Maybe its the whole thing all at once. But without HIS armor, we will always fall for the devils tricks and schemes. Today, ask the Lord how you can overcome your addiction to food, lust, sex, drugs, money, etc. by putting on HIS armor so that you can STAND strong.
